Product Stewardship forms an integral component of any product management system, from manufacturers, to suppliers, distributors, transporters, retailers and end-users.  While there are many varying definitions of Product Stewardship, the key principles remain the same:

'The safe and responsible management of knowledge, documentation, control and communication of a products environmental, health and safety to all stakeholders throughout its life cycle.'

In short, companies must be accountable in all aspects for the products they manufacture, distribute/supply or retail.
